A Galaxy classic...with a recession going full force, we thought this feature might help ease the pain.

Researchers have found that low self-esteem and materialism are not just a correlation, but also a causal relationship where low self esteem increases materialism, and materialism can also create low self-esteem. The also found that as self esteem increases, materialism decreases. The study primarily focused on how this relationship affects children and adolescents. Lan Nguyen Chaplin (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) and Deborah Roedder John (University of Minnesota) found that even a simple gesture to raise self-esteem dramatically decreased materialism, which provides a way to cope with insecurity.

Do the lamest tourist thing in your area that you have both secretly wanted to do forever. Have an unabashed good time!
In the middle of the night, drive to the beach, so you arrive just as the sun is rising. Have a breakfast picnic, then fall asleep together. Bring a sun umbrella.
Drive somewhere unknown and have dinner in a city you’ve never been to. With fake names.
Go to a minor league baseball game under the stars. Tell each other stories about how bad you are at athletics. Randomly cheer for both teams. Eat lots of Cracker Jacks.
Go around the city with sidewalk chalk and draw hearts with equations inside on random things
Walk around a city and perform short silent plays in front of security cameras
With camera and pair of boots, make photolog of a day in the life of the invisible man.
Walk around the city all night and find a place to eat breakfast at dawn
Go to a restraunt and convince the cook to create something completely new for you.
Rent a movie you’ve never seen before. Set on mute and improvise dialogue.

War mal wieder in New York und musste vorübergehend in einem verlassenen und zwangsversteigerten Haus meine Geschäfte erledigen. Aber so konnte ich auch mal wie ein Landstreicher mit Schleppi fühlen *g* Internet gab's halt noch nicht in der neuen Bleibe ;-)

Wochenende in Honduras

Ich war in Tela und dann in la Ceiba auf dem Karnevall. Nach la Ceiba bin ich leider zu spät gekommen, um den Umzug zu sehen. Habe leider nur ein brauchbares Bild machen lassen, da es einfach zu heiß war den ganzen Kram immer mit herumzuschleppen.

Pflanzt 8 Millionen Bäume in die Sahara

Von dem vergessenen Kontinent Afrika hört man ja sowieso nicht mehr viel. Falls aber doch mal wieder Bilder von armen Kindern irgendwo auftauchen und man sie aus einer Mischung aus Unbehagen, Abgestumpftheit und genervt sein ignoriert, könnte man doch mal was aktiv dagegen machen. Irgendwann sieht man diese Bilder vielleicht schon bald nicht mehr. Was man machen kann seht Ihr hier.
